What should be on an invoice?

A good invoice answers every question your client's bookkeeper might have, so it gets paid instead of sitting in a pile. At a minimum include:

• The word "Invoice" and a unique invoice number
• Your business name and contact info, and your client's
• The invoice date and the due date or payment terms (like Net 30)
• A clear description of each product or service, with quantity, rate and amount
• Subtotal, any discounts, tax and the total amount due
• How to pay you: bank transfer, check, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, card link
